I was incredibly thrilled to be picked as part of the cohort for the inaugural Unheard Voices programme. As an emerging playwright the experience has been invaluable. The wisdom and advice shared by industry experts through their masterclasses have been a constant source of inspiration for me as I work on my second play. Azuka Oforka, Unheard Voices member
At first, I became a Sherman 5 member and volunteer. This enlightened me about the wide range of opportunities to learn new skills through workshops and training courses, which includes being enrolled as one of Sherman Players. After that, I became more interested in the organisation, so I joined the Sherman 5 Advisory group. My involvement with the Sherman community has been eventful, fun-filled, introduced me to more people and friends, and also helped me gain more confidence. Tijesunimi Oluwapelumi Olakojo, Sherman 5 Member
Theatre is important to me because it is somewhere where ideas and emotions and stories can be shared and important questions asked and examined. It helps to make sense of the world and is often a welcome escape from the world! The thing I am most excited about in this role is discovering new, unique voices and stories that haven’t been heard before and that need to be heard! Branwen Davies, Literary Manager
